First snippet of the 7L & Esoteric album, 1212, has been dropped and the beat is brilliant. Reminiscent of DJ Shadow’s brilliant “Organ Donor and more importantly Columns on the Sega Megadrive. Loved that game.
I’m no expert on the ins-and-outs of recording, I’m just a listener and a lover. So instead of trying to describe the details of the recording, I’ll just quote the man.

The album is really nice, stripped down with a great feel. Looking forward to hearing more from the unknown man from Korea.

Let’s kick off Instrumental Thursday with a bang. A jazzy bang. This album is only one track long but you get a lot for your download as it’s 35 minutes of jazz loops. It moves from sample to sample, bounces from horn to horn, and keeps things expertly chilled.

Another hectic weekend over and it’s time for the Top Six. Been doing a little digging this week, finding new stuff to share as well as old gems that I continue to enjoy. That’s what I love about Hip-hop, it’s so eclectic, there’s something out there that will sway even the biggest hater and match every mood possible. Even if it is a bad one.
British success story, Plan B, might not come off as the most eloquent guy but last month he gave his thoughts to an all-ears TEDxObserver crowd on hip-hop and the term ‘chav’, among other topics.
