While it’s taken about a year for us to hear the final version of Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them, the wait for the fully mastered version was worth it. Exile’s production on here really elevated him as one of the best loop based producers around now. He really holds the whole LP together while lyrically Blu isn’t at his most interesting.

Aesop Rock releases a nice reminder for sites compiling their end of year lists. Just in case you forgot Skelethon came out this year.
The opening track off Dumbfoundead’s new album of the same name. After listening to his latest release, I think I’ve come to the conclusion that his album’s are always going to have polarising tracks on them. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he released an album of undoubtedly high quality track to track sometime soon. He showcases a little bit of that magic here.
I’ll be honest, it’s more than the last line that I had to google to full appreciate all the references in here. Comic books just never took off to the same degree on this side of the pond. Luckily, Wordburglar has given me a good enough education on this track.
It’s been a long year, but just in case you forgot, EL-P released a pretty good album in 2012. End of year list fodder Cancer 4 Cure’s just got it’s reminder in visuals for “Stay Down”.
Australia’s premier electronic-ish beat producer Ta-Ku has gotten his hands on Chet Faker’s new EP Thinking in Textures. Being one to experiment this little remix EP predictably skips across multiple genres over short nine minutes. Download it.
I’ve never really been able to get into Clemits. As strange as that sentence is for a blog post about him. He’s got this weird and slow monotone flow that only works on specific tracks. But I’ve got high hopes for his upcoming November album Skeleton Crew after watching the visuals for “Boutique Shop”, he’s really improving his unique craft.
Last year’s Vitamins & Minerals by ArtOfficial was one of best live hip-hop releases we’ve heard in a long time, and we’ve been hearing a lot recently. To tide you over before ArtOfficial announce a follow-up, they’ve just released a video for “Bags Packed”. A track that appropriately uses years of tour footage.
Freddie Joachim & Question are back with their fourth vinyl podcast. It has become a seasonal thing, and that means theres more in the future. This one also has a guest, Ohmega Watts who steals the show and rightfully so with the music chosen. Also get some information on new works by all three of the artists, which is great to hear.
